Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse \(0\.5 FTE, Days\) to work for Radiation Oncology at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA\.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care adapted to individual patient needs based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation\. The nurse's understanding of the pathophysiology of cancer as well as the major treatment modalities enables her/him to participate fully in all phases of care for the patient and their significant support system\.
In this position you will:
Be responsible on a continuing basis for planning and providing comprehensive outpatient care to patients/families with cancer being cared by for the Radiation Oncologists of the Cancer Institute
Be responsible for teaching, counseling, advocacy, and all supportive functions needed to assist the patient and family to cope with and adjust to their treatment and diagnosis
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing Baccalaureate degree \(BSN\) from an accredited school of nursing or must actively pursue and attain a BSN within six years of hire
Current Washington State Registered Nursing License
Current BLS certification
Minimum of one year of current medical oncology or radiation oncology nursing experience, preferably in an acute care facility
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Oncology Certified Nurse certification
Outpatient clinic experience strongly preferred
