The Director of Project Management plays an essential role in helping Lacuna Health drive new solutions to market that leverage emerging and evolving technologies, advances new business models or seizes on market opportunities. He/she will maintain responsibility for a portfolio of new business solutions, and the solution managers that lead them, through their full life cycle – from concept-to-launch to monitoring post-launch performance, including strategies for market optimization. He/she will have oversight responsibility of projects of varying complexity, led by team members and other internal/external stakeholders.
The Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for the overall project management function, providing leadership, coordination, governance and management of the PMO processes and functions. Key responsibilities include: supporting project managers, facilitating prioritization and approval for project management deliverables, managing project management processes, monitoring and reporting on progress of the project to stakeholders and executive leadership.
This position reports directly to the COO of Lacuna Health. This position is located at Kindred Healthcare corporate headquarters in Louisville, KY; relocation required.
Manage, mentor and contribute to collaborative, multi-disciplinary project team efforts in an agile environment including running agile daily stand-ups.
Manage white boarding sessions, driving to deliverables, meeting with stakeholders, partners, and executives.
Provide timely and accurate reporting to all stakeholders; hold regular cross-organizational management briefings.
Maintain meticulous records of project and program financials, issues, risks, decisions, and schedules.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues.
Accomplish objectives within time and budget targets.
Control project changes by collecting relevant information, evaluating the performance compared to the plan; share the results.
Report on project progress. Review performance highlights, details, problems, risks, changes and next steps.
Plan transition and full operationalization of the project
Conduct a post-project evaluation. Assess project results, activities and processes
Managed, mentored and developed a team of project managers
Organize, manage, and execute on select strategic initiatives and operational priorities related to new solution design and implementation, partner-enablement, and strategic customer-acquisition
Perform solution portfolio planning and roadmap management, driving the evolution of core service models, informing go-to-market strategies, and establishing clear goals, financial expectations, and timelines
Support Legal and Compliance reviews of the solution portfolio
Work cross-functionally with internal and external partners to build solutions that support current and future operations, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement
Build and maintain effective relationships with strategic customers to better understand their market and competitive pressures and to improve solution identification/prioritization
Drive consistent communication strategies with external customers and internal stakeholders, through onboarding, implementation, and continued service operation
Support Kindred Innovations, Business Development/Sales, Marketing, and Corporate Development in managing strategic customer or partner relationships by providing collateral, developing value propositions, providing strategic input on pricing, and understanding solution configurations
Identify success criteria and performance metrics that team members must track to ensure transparency, sharing successes and highlighting opportunities for improvement
Define internal and external reporting requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Nursing or Technology required.
MBA / MPH preferred.
Minimum of 5+ years' experience in managing, assessing or leading some facet of project management
Knowledge of healthcare provider operations, specifically post-acute care operations
Strong negotiation and problem solving skills
Proven analytic and quantitative ability – use data to drive decision-making
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required
Effective communication skills with stakeholders both internally and externally, including providers, insurers and members of the business community as desired – ability to convey complex ideas simply for all audiences
Demonstrated ability to lead and engender the trust of employees, members, regulators, and providers
Approximate percent of time required to travel: 20% for customer site visits, conferences, industry leader forums, sales and marketing events, and training
