We are recruiting for a Director, End User Compute to join our Information Systems Department in Louisville, KY.
Direct the End User Compute department and the activities associated with ensuring that all processes, procedures, tools, and methodologies are clear and followed by all employees. Provides management support for department members, ensures adequate resources, training and personal development. Continuously makes certain that the value of the End User Compute department is evident throughout Kindred. Ensures that the End User Compute department goals are aligned with business goals and objectives.
Manages, delegates, monitors and supports the daily activities of the End User Compute team. Ensures that each department function is staffed with personnel trained to provide effective support.
Manages and administers the department's Operational budget. Advises and contributes to administration of Capital project budgets within department's respective area.
Assures that processes, procedures, policies, and standard tools for the department are clearly defined, communicated and meet the required objectives.
Makes certain that staff members follow Kindred IS methodologies, best practices, and processes, and that the department is in compliance with appropriate policies, standards and procedures (i.e., IS Executive Standards, Systems Development Life Cycle)
Provides department resources to manage or participate on project teams within the department's respective areas.
Supports the development of formal RFPs and technology evaluations for external vendor solutions.
Supervises the creation, communication, and maintenance activities associated with system support documentation/policies, ensuring they are appropriate for each area of responsibility. Incorporates documentation and policies within the department's tasks and standard operating instructions.
Institutes and reports service metrics, problem trends, corrective actions and capacity plans.
Manages the creation and delivery activities related to project review presentations to Divisional leadership and the standard IS internal and executive project review committees.
Provides consulting to other departments in areas of system usage, available products, and utilities on support systems. Advises on existing capabilities or enhancements to satisfy user requirements.
Ensures that all departments that work with End User Compute understand the functions, impacts, and value provided by the department.
Ensures employees receive training, development, coaching/mentoring, feedback, and motivation for effective performance and retention, supporting initiatives of the department.
Continuously enhances knowledge of the business in order to ensure that the work effort and schedules of the department contribute to the key initiatives and success factors of IS and Kindred.
Provides ongoing analysis and evaluation of department mission and scope, and communicates suggested strategies for implementing identified needs and opportunities.
Participates in industry and other professional Development and Technical forums to ensure awareness of industry standards, trends, and best practices in order to strengthen the project and/or technical team, organizational knowledge and technical knowledge.
Significant technical knowledge of enterprise device management and security including image management, remote patch deployment, managing anti-malware systems, encryption, and conducting scans for misconfigured or unpatched devices.
Significant technical knowledge of both application and desktop virtualization.
Demonstrated experience in process design and development, service management, and planning.
Knowledge of networks, servers, virtualization, application management, directory and identity management systems.
Demonstrated strong customer service orientation, experience in collaborating with other departments, and fostering a team spirit within the department.
Significant technical knowledge of Mobile Device and Application management platforms and experience managing a highly mobile work force.
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage resources across departments
Merits respect and support from I/S departments, Lines of Business, and community forums based on technical knowledge, experience, and successes.
Knowledge of Apple Device Management
Approximate percent of time required to travel: 10%
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience requirement.
Knowledge of ITIL methodology and best practices preferred.
Any professional or technical certification that pertains to or enhances job performance
10+ years working in an Enterprise IT environment.
5+ years currently working in the core technical area supported by this assigned department.
5+ years successfully managing personnel and/or contracted resources within the IT environment.
Depending on a candidate's qualifications, this position may be filled at a different level.
