The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for the overall direction of business development, network development and growth initiatives for Care Synergy and its Affiliates ensuring alignment with the respective Strategic Plans and Strategic Direction of Care Synergy and its Affiliates. The Vice President of Business Development is responsible to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all constituents across a complex organization and to function as a leader and collaborative consensus builder. The position will develop, direct and manage the overall sales structure, sales process and sales training for Care Synergy and its Affiliates in support of their goals.
The Vice President of Business Development will assure that the business development and sales related strategies and process are provided in a professional manner and will positively impact and improve market share, census and access to care and brand awareness.
KEY REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Vice President of Business Development through a direct reporting relationship reports to the:
Care Synergy President & CEO
Works in collaboration with the Care Synergy President & CEO, Affiliate Presidents, Affiliate Leadership Staff and others who are responsible for Care Synergy and the Affiliate organizations’ mission; and
The Vice President of Business Development in its role shall collaborate extensively with the Affiliate Presidents, Affiliate Directors of Business Development and their Leadership Staff to assist them in executing and achieving their organizational business development and sales strategies, goals and objectives as well as their growth and financial goals.

The position is responsible and accountable to develop, implement and provide overall direction and management of sales, sales structure and processes as well as training in order to drive growth initiatives of both Care Synergy and its Affiliates.
The position is responsible and accountable to develop and lead networking and relationship management of provider networks, payors and health care systems.
This position is responsible and accountable to translate and communicate plans into tactical goals and the ability to create, organize and execute programs and activities that depend upon the participation of other people for their successful completion.
The position is responsible and accountable to lead managed care and other contracting efforts for Care Synergy and its Affiliates.
This position is responsible and accountable to comply, adhere and meet all relevant agency, accreditation, state, and federal regulatory, statutory or other requirements.
This position is responsible and accountable to maintain effective communication with all departments and colleagues within the organization and its Affiliates, as well with defined key accounts, appropriate business associates, vendors and industry personnel.
This position is responsible and accountable to compile and analyze healthcare, market and CRM data, to submit data in report form and to develop recommendations from the data analysis that lead to demonstrable actions and results.
This position is responsible and accountable to track and report business development activities and opportunities through the selection, implementation and utilization of a CRM tool.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop; kneel; or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must have reliable transportation, a valid drivers’ license and be able to drive throughout the service area as needed to meet the expectations of the position.
Education – Bachelor’s degree required, a Master’s degree preferred.
Experience – At least 5 years previous experience in a hospice organization or at least 10 years previous experience in another healthcare setting, preferably in a home health care, PACE or other Post-Acute organization. Demonstrated strong financial, healthcare and business acumen required. A minimum of ten (10) years’ progressive leadership experience in a hospice or other healthcare organization required. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience at a senior or Vice President of Business Development/Sales level required. Previous managed care and payor contracting experience required. Previous multi-site experience required. Previous experience in working with CRM/Account Management Systems.
