The Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) and its divisions, the Iowa Center for Assisted Living (ICAL) and Iowa Center for Home Care (ICHC) serve the long term services and supports the profession as a nonprofit trade association. Because of retirement – the Board seeks candidates for a new President & CEO. This 700+ member organization spans the continuum of long term services and support health care in Iowa. IHCA members represent providers of long term services and support in many areas and settings, including nursing and rehab facilities, assisted living programs, residential care facilities, home health and private duty nursing agencies, and independent senior living communities. Our members serve more than 42,000 Iowans in the long term services and supports continuum. These organizations employ more than 30,000 people who provide quality care and services to Iowa’s frail and elderly.
The President & CEO will report directly to the Chair and Board of Directors. Candidates for this role should have: • Experience in Association Leadership or related background • Ability to provide the strategic, financial and operational leadership necessary to maintain and build the membership base • Background indicating the ability to develop and shape the Association’s active policy agenda • Experience that shows they can develop and implement a strategic plan that furthers the Mission and addresses the needs of membership which includes nursing homes, assisted living communities, associate member and affiliated professional members groups. • Prior experience showing that they can implement Association’s organizational operations, advocacy, press relations, education and communication programs, membership services plus implement the policies and procedures in accord with the policies and goals as defined by the Board. • Ability to maintain a proactive role in legislative relations, Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement • Be the Association’s liaison to the American Health Care Association.
