THE MAYO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPLANT is a large comprehensive solid organ multidisciplinary Transplant Center (360-400 solid organs/year) located in Jacksonville, FL. It is part of the Mayo Foundation integrated Transplant program which encompasses solid organ transplant and BMT on all Mayo campuses â?? Jacksonville, Fla., Scottsdale, Ariz., and Rochester, Minn. â?? which together share common protocols and databases. This gives the Mayo Clinic Transplant Centers a broad geographic reach, enabling it to serve diverse patient populations and enabling it to have the largest Transplant program in the world. The campuses are also home to outstanding, internationally recognized physicians and scientists who collaborate across the full spectrum of Regenerative Medicine through the Mayo Clinic Center for Regenerative Medicine.
Ideal candidates will be nationally/internationally recognized clinical, translational Transplant Nephrologist with a focus in Regenerative Medicine. The individual should have experience directing extramurally funded research projects, and collaborating with others in a multidisciplinary setting, current funding (R01 or equivalent) and a strong publication record in Regenerative Medicine as it relates to Transplant and Nephrology. Candidates will be at the Associate Professor rank or above. Candidates for this position must be board-certified/board-eligible Nephrologist who possesses or who are eligible for State of Florida medical licensure. The position will include 50% of time in the clinical practice.
