Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants

The CNS works collaboratively to improve the quality of patient care and facilitate favorable outcomes in a designated specialty practice. The CNS functions as a leader in the roles of care provider, educator, consultant, and researcher, and is an active participant in the collaborative practice framework.
Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Baccalaureate Nursing Program. Masters Degree with a major in Nursing with a Clinical Nurse Specialist focus. Five years of successful work experience in Nursing with two years in the specialty area. (Oncology). Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) competency. Oncology certification through the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) is required within 12 months of employment. Has obtained prescriptive authority in the State of Wisconsin if required by department/division.
Additional qualifications A Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) is preferred. Experience as a CNS preferred. Project management skills preferred. Demonstrated innovative leadership ability and interpersonal effectiveness that fosters collaborative relationships with the Oncology team and other clinical teams who provide care for oncology patients. Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient needs and CNS workload. Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. Able to manage time and stress effectively.
License or certification Current RN license to practice in Wisconsin. Certification in designated specialty by a nationally recognized body deemed acceptable by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing.

Compensation Detail Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $3230.64, based on a full-time position.
