We are recruiting for a Programmer Analyst Consultant to join our Information Systems team in Louisville, Kentucky.
Summary
Analyzes, designs, develops, and supports high to very high complexity application solutions for Kindred's various corporate and operating departments. Additionally, provides project management role for large and complex projects.
Essential Functions:
Understands Kindred's Information Systems strategy and how it supports the business strategy.
Plays a key role in the design of application architecture to support the Information Systems strategy.
Uses Kindred's Information Systems standards to apply advanced technology and tools in the analysis, design, development and support of business solutions for application systems by successfully analyzing business requirements.
Developing design specifications and test plans to meet business requirements.
Programming applications to meet design specifications.
Implementing applications to meet business requirements.
Supporting production applications (on-call problem resolution), as needed.
Acts as a technical advisor in the design or selection of new application systems.
Excels in effective coaching and counseling of co-workers.
Expert knowledge of business knowledge of area being supported.
May have people management responsibilities for small staff for performance appraisals, recommendations for merit and promotions, and other administrative duties.
Approximately 80% of the time should be spent performing project management responsibilities or serving in a technical leadership role. The remaining time should be spent analyzing, designing, developing and supporting application solutions.
Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Have a good understanding of budgeting and planning.
Systems and data analysis
Proficient in Excel (formulas, macros, etc)
Understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle
Understanding of relational databases
Proficient in SQL
Understanding of ETLs
Ability to create and maintain documentation
Have the ‘soft’ skills needed to work with the different groups
System administration (metadata and data; user management; ability to quickly learn and understand all aspects of the system from user management to deploying forms to processes, etc.)
Manage interfaces from SAP to Tagetik
Maintain and write MDX and be a resource for the divisions (i.e. assist Pete in maintaining and writing new MDX)
Be able to modify and create forms (data entry and reports)
Maintain and create ETLs
Be the technical lead on the upgrade
Assist business partners with all of their questions/issues
Experience managing complex projects and management skills over technical development staff.
Highest level of technical knowledge of advanced technology, business applications, development methodology, programming languages, databases, operating systems related to the area.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others to achieve results.
Self-directed and motivated.
Minimum of 6 - 10+ years progressive experience in the Information Technology environment.
Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. MBA is desirable.
Strong Healthcare experience preferred.
