Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture between Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health and Kindred Healthcare, is the only freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Lancaster County. The Nursing Supervisor functions under the direction and supervision of the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) and assumes responsibility for the Nursing Department on their shift. The Nursing Supervisor directly supervises the charge nurses and other co-workers as assigned. The Nursing Supervisor reinforces the mission and vision of the hospital in all interactions.
Responsible for providing professional working conditions for employees.
Ensures the nursing department staff, on their shift, performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Promotes rehabilitation nursing philosophy and practice; encourages staff development, including acquisition of CRRN for qualified registered nurses.
Assures education and training is provided to nursing co-workers on Functional Independent Measure (FIM); assures timely and accurate FIM assessments and scoring is performed.
Attends and participates in team conferences.
Assures report to physicians on changes in patient condition.
Other duties as assigned.
Graduate of accredited registered nurse program with current licensure in the state. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of two years of previous supervisory or charge experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate and direct activities of clinical personnel; effective oral and written communication skills, in English with additional languages preferred; proficiency in basic computer skills required.
