We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Executive Fellow to join our Hospital Division in Louisville, Kentucky.
Summary: The Pharmacy Fellow functions as a member of the pharmacy leadership team responsible for the provision of clinical, operational, and regulatory support to Kindred facility based pharmacy operations. Concurrently, the Fellow completes a one year structured pharmacy leadership development program.
Meets all requirements of a Fellow, including learning experiences, as outlined in the program requirements.
Participates in learning, planning, creating and implementing strategic, operational, service design and other organizational plans and policies which support pharmacy services to help achieve the mission and vision of the Kindred Healthcare.
Enhances leadership skills by participating in Kindred's executive fellow (EF) management and leadership workshops and completing EF assignments.
Work collaboratively with Kindred support center individuals and teams
Enhances pharmacy management skills by working alongside site administrators and managers
Assists pharmacy in the development of hospital specific performance improvement action plans
Collaborates with hospital based pharmacy, nursing, medical staff, and other organization leaders in order to execute on clinical pharmacy initiatives
Staff member of the Pharmacy Advisory Committee and other related medication use improvement committees.
Analyzes medication use data to detect for trends and opportunities
Provides drug information and medication use guidance.
Completes designated special projects by assigned deadline.
Effectively communicates work priorities and submits reports of weekly activities.
Present research project poster at national pharmacy meeting.
Complete research project suitable for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journal.
Participates in regular feedback meetings between preceptors and supervisors.
Serve as secondary preceptor for pharmacy students as applicable.
Assist in the development of clinical pharmacy policies and procedures
Provide educational in-services.
Prepare appropriate reports and follow-up documentation for all assigned duties and projects.
Complete self-evaluations as required.
Maintain active pharmacy license
Overnight travel >50 percent
Performs other duties as assigned.

Demonstrates current knowledge of federal and state pharmacy regulations governing operations, financial, business and clinical necessary to direct pharmacy operations

Exhibit sound judgment, and ability to act decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
Aptitude to read, analyze and interpret professional and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents

Demonstrated ability to conduct job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company's Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws and applicable professional standards

Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy with Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Master's degree (MBA, MHA) preferred.
Current state license in good standing and eligible for Kentucky license within 90 days of hire.
One year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
