The Associate Compliance Officer will provide support to the Conifer Compliance Officers and the Conifer Privacy Officer (âOfficer(s)â).perform work that assists the Officers in complex investigating and documentating allegations, assist in the implementation and monitoring of internal controls and provide support for the execution of the compliance program.May also lead simple investigations as needed.
This position is responsible for assisting the Officers with the achievement of the activities outlined in Coniferâs Ethics and Compliance Program Charter. Under the direction of the Officers, the Associate will conduct periodic compliance-related audits, reviews, and investigations into potential areas of non-compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, compliance policies, and federal guidelines.
General activities associated with the position include assisting the Officers in: (1) leading investigations, (2) auditing and monitoring activities, (3) conducting/documenting compliance investigations, (4) development of and the monitoring of corrective action plans, (5) monitoring compliance program elements, and (6) development and presentation of ethics and compliance training for Conifer staff. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in the Coniferâs Standards of Conduct and the Essential Qualities defined by the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Others may be assigned.
At the direction of the Officers, facilitates timely completion of compliance reviews and investigations of reported issues and concerns.
Supports the effective operation of the Compliance Program by providing support to the Compliance Officer in the development, implementation, and daily operation of the Compliance Program.
At the direction of the Privacy and Security Officer, assists with auditing and monitoring of HIPAA Privacy and Security Policy elements to ensure compliance.
Provides general assistance in compliance training
Assist the Compliance and Privacy Officer(s) in activities related to the implementation of new laws, regulations or policies, including any necessary revisions to the existing Standards of Conduct and Statement and policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned by the Officer(s).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Knowledge of and experience in Revenue Cycle processes, Federal Program Claims submission, hospital rules and regulations
Knowledge of and experience with State and Federal privacy and security laws, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
Strong business intelligence analysis skills including the ability to write and revise standards and procedures and root cause analyses
Excellent organization, oral presentation, and written communication skills
Strong working knowledge of the MS Office Suite including SharePoint
Proven ability to be detail, deadline, and results-oriented
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.
Bachelors degree or relevent experience required, Juris Doctor, Masters or other graduate degree preferred. Requires excellent legal research skills and exceptional communication and drafting skills
