Texas Rehab Hospital of Arlington, a Kindred Facility, is looking for a Environmental Services Lead. This individual p lans, organizes, coordinates and controls the activities of the Environmental Services Department. This position performs cleaning duties in the hospital facilities in order to keep it in a clean and orderly condition.
Develops and applies the standards of quality and productivity.
Clean patient rooms, restrooms, lounges, offices, corridors, walls and windows daily or as scheduled.
Vacuum, sweep, mop floors; replace paper and soap produces in restrooms, clean mirrors, sinks and toilets, etc.
Operate various types of equipment and machinery to include vacuums, hand trucks, and mini-extractors.
Collect and remove trash from buildings each day.
Inspects and evaluates physical condition of the hospital.
Periodically inventories equipment and supplies.
Investigates new and improved cleaning equipment, methods and supplies and communicates information to employees.
Ensures linen supply is clean and that there is an adequate supply available at all times.
Reviews linen usage statistics and maintains loss and cost controls.
Assists with hiring, orienting, training, evaluating and disciplining housekeeping personnel within established policy.
Schedules personnel to ensure proper coverage of the hospital.
Participates in information management, performance improvement and infection control programs.
Ensures compliance with JCAHO, federal, state and local regulations and standards.
Prepares and submits reports as requested by Administration.
Report any malfunctions and maintenance problems.
Stays current in area of Environmental Services through continuing education conferences, professional journals and societies.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
