The Senior Director of Facility Management Implementation will a ssist in planning, organizing, directing and supervising assigned activities of the Enterprise Engineering Department functions which are necessary in maintaining the physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utility systems and grounds of the network hospitals in an operative and safe working condition. Assists in maintaining performance improvement activities within the Engineering Department and participates in CQI activities.
Essential Functions :
Supports the network hospitals Engineering Department Directors regarding the physical and structural conditions of hospital facilities and the status of work in progress.
Monitors departmental personnel matters and makes recommendations, such as selection, training, promotion, discipline and termination. Supervises scheduling of department personnel. Directs the grievances of employees to the Engineering Department Director for final disposition.
Participates in the development and applications of standards of quality and productivity for the Engineering Department. Supervises and directs Engineering Department personnel in the use of policies, procedures and standards of work performance for maintenance and repair of equipment, buildings and building systems.
Assists in administering and supervising the maintenance program to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the network physical plants. Monitoring its application to assure maximum effectiveness and provides appropriate documentation of same.
Works closely with other departments and administration. Negotiates priorities, plans work schedules, makes job assignments, orders needed materials, supplies and parts. Recommends use of outside specialty contractors as circumstances indicate.
Schedules and supervises maintenance repair work, alterations, remodeling, minor construction, and checks out installation and servicing of mechanical and electrical equipment and building systems.
May develop and participates in the orientation of new employees and the continuing education of department employees in the repair and maintenance of all equipment. May instruct personnel regarding hazards and safety to ensure safe procedures and safe use of equipment.
Ensures Engineering Department Directors compliance with state and federal requirements in regards to the energy management program.
Responsible for coordination of all fire and safety measures throughout the network hospitals, including fire and safety inspections and procedures in conjunction with Safety and Security Departments.
Participates in performance improvement and information management activities.
Provides Corporate, Regional and local Senior Leadership with expert advice and guidance on all EOC/Physical Plant issues.
In conjunction with the local and corporate teams, be the subject matter expert with a comprehensive understanding of the CMS Conditions of Participation and the Joint Commission standards.
· Interview Plant Operations candidates for the hospitals. On-board, train and mentor new Plant Directors.
· Other duties as assigned.
Post Construction Phase
Ensure punch list completion is achieved prior to Certificate of Substantial Completion.
Assist in the support of the facility during the startup and implementation phase to ensure State and Joint Commission Accreditation are received.

Maybe serve as facility Director, Facilities Management until a Director is hired.
Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.
Good oral and written communication skills.
BS degree in an engineering discipline, preferred
HVAC Certification, preferred
o Ten years of hospital experience in plant operations is preferred.
o Five years' experience in personnel and team management.
o Experience in hospital systems with multiple hospitals within multiple locations.
o Expert level knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards and CMS Conditions of Participation requirements.
o Previous experience as a compliance surveyor/auditor
o Experience with the Joint Commission and CMS survey process.
