CHI Franciscan Rehabilitation Hospital o pened the doors of this new 60-bed hospital in May 2018 to serve patients recovering from strokes, brain and spinal-cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions. The hospital is a joint venture partnership between CHI Franciscan Health and Kindred Healthcare. The goal of our team is to focus on each patient as an individual to ensure that we are meeting their clinical needs and creating a fun and dynamic healing environment.
As a Cook, you'll do the following:
Prepare food by following menus, recipes and verbal instructions
Test food by taste, aroma, timing temperatures and making adjustments as needed
Properly store food and supplies
Monitor and record temperatures on steam tables and with refrigerators and freezers
Apportion servings according to menu combinations or orders for patients
Use proper infection control techniques and protective equipment as needed; perform all duties using proper safety techniques
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure outstanding customer service to patients, visitors and co-workers
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a variable daytime work schedule that includes weekdays and weekends.
High school diploma or GED preferred
Prior successful experience as a cook is required and prior experience cooking in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred
Must have knowledge of safe food preparation and handling techniques and possess a Washington Food Handler's Permit
Strong customer service skills
Must enjoy teamwork and demonstrate the ability to work well with others
