The HIM Tech II obtains and accounts for paper records. Preps the records and scans/indexes into the HPF (Horizon Patient Folder) system. The HIM Tech II maintains the scanning equipment on a daily basis. Performs other clerical and general office tasks as assigned.
Retrieves all records of discharged patients from all units on a daily basis
Prepares all documents for scanning
Maintains appropriate set up and cleanliness of scanner
Indexes documents to correct encounter and document type
Managers time and resources efficiently
Actively participates in staff meetings
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
Basic computer knowledge
Previous experience in a medical setting preferred
