Behavioral Health Milieu Manager Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health Milieu Manager is responsible for the overall management of the unit milieu to include performing the duties of staffing coordination, which includes collaborating with the Behavioral Health Program Director, Nursing House Supervisor and Unit Charge Nurse to staff all shifts and approve requests for time-off from Behavioral Health Associates and Technicians.
He or she will participate in Quality and Risk Management functions such as reporting data as required to state agencies and hospital committees, conducting audits, conducting compliance rounds, and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of care.
This role will serve as the Trainer for CPI or other de-escalation program adopted by the unit or hospital.
The Behavioral Health Milieu Manager will conduct environment of care rounds on assigned shifts and supervise others in rounds.
The Behavioral Health Milieu Manager will provide guidance and direction to Behavioral Health Technicians and Associates on therapeutic interaction and communication with patients.
This position also serves in a direct care role covering for Behavioral Health Associates and Technicians during breaks, lunches and when additional staff is needed.
The position will report staffing variances and time-off requests to the Behavioral Health Program Director.
He or she will provide unit leadership when Program Director is away.
As a Behavioral Health Milieu Manager you will have:
Bachelor's Degree with minimum 5 years in behavioral health field. Master's Degree preferred.
CPI Trainer and CPR Certification or ability to attain within a reasonable time as defined by the Behavioral Health Program Director.
Minimum 5 years in behavioral health.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
CPI and verbal de-escalation techniques.
