Supervises the hospital's Health Information department and assigned staff. Plans and develops medical record filing systems. Coordinates the implementation of operating policies and procedures, and participates in operational planning. May handle data storage and retrieval, abstracting, and statistical input.
Education : High school diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or equivalent preferred.
Licenses/Certification: Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) by the American Health Information Management Association preferred.
Experience: 3 to 5 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
