Full-Time and Part-Time Available. This is a temporary position to assist in the upcoming academic year.
Assist members of the Student Health Center with providing patient care. Act as a liaison between patients and other medical personnel to answer questions or offer guidance.
• Monitor, report, and record symptoms or changes in patient conditions. • Administer medical testing, medications, provide vaccinations and render treatment to patients. • Maintain accurate, complete health care records and reports. • Communicate with other medical professionals. • Assess, implement, plan, or evaluate patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members. • Modify patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient conditions and responses. • Respond to inquiries, concerns and complaints from patients. • Track and maintain medical supply inventory along with other staff members. • Counsel patients before, during and after treatment.
Education and Experience Required
• 3+ years’ nursing experience. • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. • Valid Rhode Island nursing license. • Experience in college health or adolescent medicine, preferred. • Advanced knowledge of EMRs. • Excellent bedside manner and communication skills. • Ability to explain treatments and conditions. • Working knowledge of health care laws and regulations.
