Performs a wide variety of professional nursing care activities and accommodates services for the physicians and the practice, following established standards, practices, policies and procedures. Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
·May perform minor procedures independently under the direction of the Physician
·Maintains a sterile technique.
·Provide post-procedural follow-up care in the outpatient practice setting.
·Prepares equipment and aids Physicians during treatment, examination and testing of patients. Maintains and securely controls medical supplies and medication counts, with adequate supporting records.
·Maintains medication safety by monitoring refrigerator and freezer temperatures and dating multi-dose vials when opened.Ensures that no expired medications are available for use.
·Communicates with courtesy when interacting with internal or external patients and customers-in person or on the telephone.
·Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
·Exhibits respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships within the practice and other departments.
·Demonstrates commitment to professional and personal growth, i.e. completes all mandatory educational requirements, maintains certifications, attend continuing education courses/seminars, and acts as designated preceptor.
·Proactively supports a culture of safety and quality to protect our patients and employees.
·Honors patient's rights by following privacy guidelines, HIPAA, and code of ethics with our patients, physicians, co-workers, and guests.
·Performs other job-related duties as assigned, needed or requested.
Leadership/Supervisory:
·Assists with patient experience needs and mastermind ways to improve the quality of patient care provided by the facility
·Works to identify issues or create efficient systems and workflows within the clinic including clinical staff scheduling, education for staff
·Attend departmental meetings and stay up to date on all business initiatives related to the clinic
·Completes Team Huddles to present current data and assist in action planning.
·Communicates effectively with staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
·Precepts new clinical staff through skill validation
·Demonstrates good communication skills respectfully and courteously when interacting with patients, co-workers, physicians, and colleagues within department.
·Manage day-to-day clinical activities of the practice including direct supervision of MAs, LPNs, and RNs assigned to the practice.
·Assist Practice Administrator as needed with administrative issues/problems.
·Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures.
·Train and develop clinical team.
·Liaison between Physicians/APPs and Practice Administration.
·Improve quality and efficiency of clinic as well as level of care provided to patients.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
·Excellent verbal and written communication
·Strong knowledge of EMR system
·Ability to lead and motivate others
·Extensive clinical skills in the specific specialty or specialties
·Ability to work with a variety of health care professionals and patients
·Good organization and planning skills
·Shows initiative in growing professional knowledge by maintaining certification, BLS, and completion of an additional certification, related medical skill (i.e., phlebotomy certification), assists with practice huddles. Leads in a practice council or taking an AdventHealth Leadership/preceptor class.
·Completes Preceptor class(es)
·Strong aptitude to multitask and triage needs of patients and coworkers for efficient care

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
·Ability to interrogate and adjust pacemaker and/or defibrillator devices preferred.
·minimum 1-2 years’ experience as a clinical unit manager or supervisor
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
·ASN, graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
·BSN preferred.
·Minimum two years professional nursing experience.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
·Current and valid Florida Board of Nursing Registered Nurse License.
·BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
